Earlier this fall, we invited you to write letters of support to our client, Joseph, an innocent man who has been incarcerated and has awaited trial in Nairobi, Kenya, since December 2010. The inhumanity of waiting day after day in jail for a crime you never committed communicates a message to men like Joseph every day: that they are worthless and forgotten.

But December 8th was different. On December 8th, IJM staff in Kenya delivered nearly 3,000 letters to Joseph.

Your letters made it clear to Joseph that he is remembered, deeply valued, and loved by people all over the world. Your simple kindness in sending a message of hope for Joseph has great power. Joseph was joyful and grateful to receive your cards, telling our team "God is working through you," as he read through the stack of notes.

Thank you for your concern and prayers for Joseph and his family. IJM staff is working hard for his release, and we will keep you updated on his case.
